U.S president Donald Trump has ruffled many feathers since he announced his proposal to take over Gaza in February. According to him, more than two million Palestinians should leave to somewhere nice and safe like Jordan or Egypt while he builds a Riviera on the Mediterranean in the country.
Albeit, this idea has met constant rebuff from the international community, Arab immediately rejected it. A meeting of Gulf nations in Riyadh joined by Jordan and Egypt however, was rescheduled without concrete counter proposals.
They will be meeting in Cairo in the coming weeks. But the question is, will the non-compliant Jordan and Egypt make Trump change his mind? Remember, he is not alone in this. Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu is also with him.
In his word; “U.S will own it and the Palestinians should leave”.
